Range and Oven Tips
1. Clean Spills Immediately After Cooking Spilled food and grease can damage burners, heating elements, and finishes if left too long. For glass cooktops or gas grates, use manufacturer-approved cleaners to avoid scratching or staining, especially on Samsung and LG ranges.
2. Inspect Burner Components for Wear Electric coil burners and gas igniters can wear out over time, leading to slow or uneven heating. If you're noticing inconsistent performance, Whirlpool and GE ranges often benefit from burner element or igniter replacements.
3. Check and Tighten Knobs and Controls Over time, range knobs and control panel buttons can loosen or stop working properly. Make sure they’re securely attached and replace any cracked or malfunctioning controls, particularly on Frigidaire and KitchenAid models.
4. Avoid Using Aluminum Foil on the Drip Pans or Oven Floor Covering the drip trays or oven floor with foil can trap heat and damage internal components. GE and Whirlpool specifically advise against this in their manuals to maintain proper airflow and safety.
5. Test the Oven Temperature for Accuracy Use an oven thermometer to verify that the internal temperature matches your setpoint. If it’s consistently off by more than 10–15 degrees, your LG or Samsung range may need a simple calibration through the control settings.
